My dream(wet) car: 288GTO
Other considered cars: 959, Pantera GTS, F40 I lust after the 288 more than any other object in this world. As for the others, well....I wouldn't kick them out of the garage :) Speaking of the McLarenF1, the Bruce Canepa (_the_ 959 importer) down in Santa Cruz says that his 959s chew up his F1s and spit them out. He also says the 959 is much more stable at 200+ mph. |

without a doubt the CGT, on track or off track, simply unbelievable

This is what I have always wanted and to be wealthy enough to get factory maintenance training and stay home and work on it all day.
A 959 is a very close second. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109273238.jpg |
I'll take 1 each of these: 1924 Hispano Suiza H6C Tulipwood Torpedo. You could cruise
all day at 70mph in these in 1924. $15,000 new at a time when a Rolls cost 1/3 less. Thousands of tiny copper rivets holding individual strips of wood in place. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109273325.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109273388.jpg This one is by the same company today... I don't know anything about it... looks like it could go pretty fast. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109273908.jpg |
There more grates on that thing than the Saleen S7(?).
|
I cannot believe no one said the Delorean from 'back to the future' !
Obviously, the time machine part of it would have to be functional... ;) With that, one could just pop to the correct year and test drive a *brand new* 550 spyder or Farrari Dino or Model T for that matter. Then, you could buy one and set it up for delivery to your father when he turns 18.... |
Another vote for the 959. I see it as Porsche at it's pinnacle. I would drive it every day too, and try and use that snow setting on the suspension :D
|
The new GT40 Ford would be nice. i saw one at the auto show. I must have looked for a hour. Sweeeeeeeet.

Sir70T? There is a certain satisfaction to being happy with what you have, isn't there? Beautiful car...I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.
|
If it truly is only one car for the next ten years, I am going to need 5 seats and a trunk and that spells M5.
Because a four door can be fast too. Mike |

a NART Spyder
beyond that, futuro upgrades to my 911 to cut the wt. down to about 1,000 lbs. .... could resolve some suspension issues (modernize). Yes I wouldn't mind having the new GT40 - much better looking than the CGT tho I'm sure the latter is a better grocery hauler... |

If I could have any car.....
Let see:
Ford GT40....maybe but thanks to Ford, soon to be too common. 57 Chevy fuelie convertible 4 speed.....maybe 250 Ferrari GTO.....real possibility 1932 Chrysler roadster w/sidemounts.....hmmm 1965 Alfa TZ or TZ2.....drool! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109298833.jpg Porsche 904 w/4 cam engine......yeah, yeah! Jaguar XKE 3.8......sigh! 2005 Bentley Continental GT.....(sell the house and dog.....) Way too many choices. I might be able to get down to 10 or15 but probably not just one!
