Wheels: "ET" v. "Backspace"

I'm selling some wheels.

The ET numbers are ET13 (8.5 inch wide wheel) and ET14 (10 inch wide wheel).

Some people have asked me what the "backspacing" is. Is it possible to calculate the backspacing from the above?

Yes, but you need to tell us the overall width of the wheel, from outside to outside edge of the rim beads.

It is probably easier to just measure it. Lay the wheel upside down and put a straightedge on the backside, spanning the rim edges. If the tire is still mounted, avoid laying the staightedge on the rubber--make sure it is on the rim edge only. Now measure perpendicular to the straightedge down to the hub mating surface. That measurement is the backspacing for the wheel.

As Thom said some measurement will be needed.

Bill, do you have any idea of the offset for a set of 18" Turbo Twist's from 96. Ive seen somewhere where the front is 48mm and back is 57mm. Does that sound about right. Thanks
