The How do your Fuchs look? thread
I am trying to decide what to do about my rims
I have a 72 with 16's , black centers I would like to see painted and all the rest of the versions of these rims to help me decided what to do with them. THey need to be redone soon, and I can't decide what to do. here is the rims now http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109573200.jpg |

Polished petals and lips. (7/8 x 16) My
fave.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109574903.jpg |
I like your stock look best.
|
I agree with strother. I think the black centers accent the black trim on the car very well.

I'm going through the same thought process too.
Here's my recent thread with all the details: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/208545-lotsa-pics-16x7-wheels-longhood.html Here's some pics of my 1970 with stock finish and with black centers. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109542869.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109543221.jpg I am leaning more towards the black centers now. I think your car looks good with black centers as well. -Dan |
this has been done many times, but nobody ever misses a chance to post pics of their 911: 7/9" x 16)--cant upload pics??

16x7's - Flower Polished
|
I was wondering if anyone has done, a silver painted center
|
7 & 9 X 16. polished paddles & lips
but I think I actually liked the look of 15x7s / 8s with a stock non-polished look better. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109604594.jpg |
I prefer painted black anodized lip, but that's not what I currently possess.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109604949.jpg These polished with black webbing look nice too. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109605030.jpg |

Purchased from Fasty70 of these boards. Fully polished 16x6 / 16x7.

(apologies for the non-artistic, cr@ppy background photo) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109627453.jpg I like the siilver centres as it "grows" the wheel. A number of 911 owners have asked if they were 17s. You also get to see all the detail of the Fuchs centre that is hidden with the black centres. Just MHO. I am however, going to do a second set in faux-RSR next month to see how I like that look. |

Sho- Nuff! you haven't seen my car b/c It rarely leaves my freakin Garage! |
I really like the all black pedals with polished lips and caps. It looks like a single large lug nut ala racing cars.

TerryH - Man, I dont even especially like Targas, but that Aqua one is awesome. By the way, I lived my whole life in Whittier, where are you and do you own that car? Drop me a PM, let's have a chat.
P.S. I think my opinion of Targa is changing. The yellow one from Vegas is great too. Jay, your car looks great, the one with the fuzzy focus aorund it, awesome photo. Love that color too. |

I change the inset of the Fuchs every six months....white car....and match the side scripts. I alternate Carrera with the earlier PORSCHE....
Every four paint jobs.....I completely strip and polish....averages out to when I need new tires. Costs (retail) 80 bucks for the side scripts, 10 bucks for the krylon rattle can. The non car people at the office think I get a different car every time....I just nod and go about my bidness...:p |
911-32
Can you post some more shots, I am torn between paint black and the silver paint look, I have not seen them before on a car....more please derek |
Jay,
Did you repaint the black centers? Derek |

TomH, I'll drop you a PM. Your car is very nice. Just was a little taken aback by that Targa, whoa. Nice touches, the painted rear bumperettes, etc. Nice
911SCPilot - Very nice, thanks. What color is yourcar? That soft yellow is so period correct. I am really liking the Targa's all of a sudden. Any mod's done to your car? |
How about red?

No modes engine wise. Complete top engine build was done around 5000 miles ago.Ive updated quite a bit on the car, like all new hoses from fan to heat ex,blower hose and socket, new 16inch wheels, H4 upgrade, both L/R knee pads+ashtray pad, stereo, front hood shock's,knobs (dash), LED instrument lights, new dash. The back shelf/seats needs one of the seat backs fixed, seats are in new condition, carpet good, targa top in excellent condition, need to replace seals. So aside from a paint job, door tops/pockets, and the suspension upgrade i'm about to dive into, she`s as if she`s new. She's well taken care, and pampered like a queen, but gets driven the way she was born too. I still want a coupe though, thats the next addition, down the road  |
JP ,
More pics please Derek |
Rears painted Iris Blue to match. Here they are pulled during my valve adjustment this fall.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109647815.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109647835.jpg Seems most of my pics are during maintenance. I need to take some glamor shots this spring. put them all together and you get... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109648098.jpg |
Another chance for me to show off my newly Al Reed polished rims.
