So-what, you happen to witness what the SCWDP Special Op's soldiers are capable of, when someone dare doubt the truth! . . the reality of SC World Domination! MUHAHAhahaha. .. .. Sure, Leland has strayed over to the power-steering pump (again) and will be forced to live with that as punishment. Doug; his punishment is more severe. His sentence is to be served on a blustery, rattle-trap of two wheels, lumping around with the worst engine configuration ever conceived. (btw, Chrome and loud pipes were added to attract attention and ridicule to this spaz-design. --brutal, I know; but it was 'loud chome' or 'cards in the spokes' ) DON'T MESS WITH THE PLOT . .. it's No Gruppe. MUHAHAhahaha. .. .. |

So I guess we can now consider Island911 to be the new leader of the SCWDP...
Where ya been dude? (oh, yeah...) The loud chrome pig was sold over a year ago. His trusty steed these days is powered by an air/oil cooled flat twin...goes by the name BMW R1150RT. I have it on good authority that if he finds a suitable replacement for the BB he'll make the Round-Up. Sheesh. |

It's a PLOT! . . .no gruppe. sheesh, do I have to spell it out? okay, one more time; it goes like this: MUHAHAhahaha . ... |
Not much of a plot if it is headed by Superman and Island. We seldom see either on a driving function ;)
|
How can they lead if they're constantly bickering over political issues....some plot.
Zzzzzz....:) |
If you plan on making this event we need ot hear from you asap.
We are making a decision shortly to carry on or cancel the event. At the moment there are only 4 reservations outside the organizers. |
Event cancelled due to lack of interest. For those of you who booked rooms please call and cancel your reservations.

What the . . .!?
You guys worry like little girly-men. [/ah-nold] The same (non-commitment) happened on the first over night round-up. . .. and how it turned out. |
Yes, and that same thing would have probably happened again this year but:
We were planning on hosting two breakfasts and one big salmon feed dinner with drinks included. It's very difficult to plan such an event if a bunch of people decide to attend at the last minute. (Yes, I was one of them on the 1st Round-Up) To give you an idea of what kind of firm commitments we were getting, minus the hosts: 4 parties had booked a room at the resort. 2 parties had paid Dane. Nobody had done both. |
Disappointing! A 3-day/2-night event may be too much to commit to. June is a long way off; 3 more months. It's too early to cancel the whole thing. Maybe we have to go back to what we did last year: There was a good turn-out for a 2-day/1-night event at Sunpeaks.
I suggest that we meet for a casual drive on Sat., June 11th, stay one night at the resort, go to a restaurant for dinner, everyone make their own arrangements for breakfast, and drive some more on Sunday. Whoever wants to do more can get together then. You put a lot of effort into this and not all is lost. I made reservations and was going to pay Dane on Apr.14th in Auburn. It should be possible to get a bunch of Porsche nuts together for a shorter version of the Roundup. Any thoughts? |
Gunter,
That's certainly a possibility. I think organized single day events would draw more interest as it's less of a commitment. In doing so though, it means folks who live further away would be less likely to participate. *If anyone wants to pick up the reins and plan something feel free to do so.* There will just not be any hosted meals or prize give-a-ways....and there never were any "planned" drives. So, go ahead, knock yourselves out. |
The Rainforest Roundup must live on, and I thank the organizers for all the work done so far! The hosted meal was a good idea.
3 months is a long way off, so it's hard to commit at the moment (although I do have my room reserved). Most people procrastinate, but I suspect that if there is no $ committment, and no fear of lack of accommodation, interest will build as the date approaches. Speaking of accommodation, it seems that the resort in mind and surrounds has a limited amount. Perhaps choosing a larger town or city in the general area as a meeting point will be more favourable for late-comers. Why not plan for a 2-nighter? I think there will be enough folk for a decent party on both nights! I remain optimistic:) |
