Source of 13MM Wheel Spacers

Can anyone tell me a good source of 13 mm wheel spacers? Or will 15 MM spacers work for the following application:

Narrow Body 911T:
15x7r wheels on the rear:
225x50x15 tires.

The intent is to use the 7r wheels with the 49mm offset to move them out to the 36mm in order to fill the wheel well and clear the spring plate bolts.

Thank in advance for any assistance.

Dan:

I'm looking for the exact same thing for my 1970 911S. I have a set of five 911R wheels and, currently, 26mm spacers with long studs that put the extra inch of wheel width all the way to the outside. The tires mounted are the hard to find 185/70.

I took a front and a back wheel and spacers off and put the 49 mm offset 911R wheels on to see how much room they used on the inside. The front butted up against the strut and the rear had just a few millimeters of clearance between it and the inside.

I figure with half as much spacer, I can move a half-inch of clearance from the inside to the outside. This should give me enough space to run 195/65 in the front and 205/65 on the rear.

I have been using this tire size calculator : http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp

The rear tire (205/65) will be 6mm taller than the 185/70 which should only bring it up into the fender by 3mm (3mm will be on the pavement side) and make the actual speed of the car about 1% faster than indicated. The extra 20mm of section width of the tire will be distributed 10mm on each side. I'm adding 13mm of space between the outside of the rear tire and the fender by moving the wheel in with the smaller spacers so it should fit fine. I'm adding 13mm of space to the inside of the rear wheel compared to the fit of the wheel with no spacer so I should have plenty of room there.

The front tire (195/65) will be 6mm shorter that 185/70 so no problems with clearing the fender in that direction. The shorter tire will have the collateral effect of lowering the front in relation to the back by 6mm (3mm in the back and 3mm in the front) to give it a sportier stance. The extra 10mm of section width of the tire will be distributed 5 mm on each side. I'm adding 13mm of space between the outside of the rear tire and the fender by moving the wheel in with the smaller spacers so it should fit fine. I'm adding 13mm of space to the inside of the rear wheel compared to the fit of the wheel with no spacer so, even though the front rubbed the strut with no spacer, I should still have 8mm of space to work with. It will be tight, but it should work.

Grady Clay recommends a staggered tire size on the 911 to give it some grip in the back and diminish the tendency of the car to oversteer.

I will put a195/65 on the spare 911R and rotate it into the front. The 195/65 will fit on both ends in a pinch so it is the appropriate size for a spare tire.

As for finding those 13mm spacers, I haven't had any luck yet. Based on my math, I am really sure that I don't want anything else. Pelican doesn't havfe them and they don't seem to be very common. I got a lead from a post in another thread (Hester) on a shop here locally in San Diego that has them custom made.

If you find them before I do, please let me know and I will do the same for you.

See how close that 185/70 comes to the outside of the fender with the 26mm spacers? I see two problems with using the 225/50. (1) the car will be moving 5.3% slower than indicated, and, (2) you have to consider what the low profile tire in the back is going to look like with when it is mated with whatever you're running on the front.

Yes (with caveats--i.e. camber settings, T-bar size, clearancing mods, etc.)

See this thread. Especially note the post by Harvey Weidman towards the end. If anyone knows about this fitment, it's Harvey.

H&R makes 14mm spacers that include the necessary longer studs. Pelican doesn't carry them so I had to get mine from Paragon Products.

They're VERY nice silver anodized spacers made in Germany. I use these with my 16x8 Fuchs and 16x9 BBS RS track wheels.
