Trim removal
Can anyone tell me how the plastic trim thats on the side of my 84 1911 is attatched? It's the one the runs accross the lower half of the doors.

i don't recall any plastic trim on the lower half of a 911 door.

On a correct 84 911, what you have is a pocket with a pocket flap.

I believe you are refering to the rubber that runs on the rocker panel, it is set in a channel and should slide out once you remove the rocker end caps.

First you need to unscrew the end caps on each end. Then just get down under the car and you will see some bolts that hold the bottom of the rocker panel to car. These bolts should have some plastic spacers.
Unscrew them and the panel will hang loosely from the screws holding it at the top. You should then be able to slide the rubber trim out of the rocker panel. Then just remove the screws under the rubber
