? about getting heat w/SSI's w/out backdate
I was curious to see some of the set ups people have w/SSI's and not backdating the heat. Pics of the plumbing preferably.
I had just bought some SCAT hose from aircraft spruce and have the drivers side plumbed for heat. But I was curious to see what people used to get the passenger side plumbed in there too. As of now my footwell blowers are not working so I rely on the blower in the engine compartment to push the air. I was wondering can you use something like a 2 1/2" PVC T or Y as the penetrator in the engine tin?

Still running the engine blower (for now). Gets plenty hot in the cabin. Guess the Carrera is different.

You need to create a T just after the duct goes through the engine tin., one branch goes left the other right sort of like this

that is close to what I am wanting to do, except I'll be using the SCAT hose...But I was wondering where you or everybody else got their T from. I don't want to cut up my old crossover heat pipe for this ( I want to save it ...just in case ) That is why I was thinking something like PVC pipe (just for the T), since it is just for heat and is not in contact w/any part of the motor or exhaust. But I was still unsure weather it got to hot for the PVC.
BTW I spent quite some time @ Lowes and home depot and many of the auto parts houses to find some sort of 2 1/2" x 3" T w/no luck whatsoever.

I made one from a stove stove pipe reducer, they are not all the same even when the nominal sizes are, Lowes and Home Depot didn't carry the one I needed but a little country hardware store did. You could also get a salvage yard piece.
I origianlly ran the SKAT tube through the bumper but found that the flexible s/s was a better soution.
