Admit it! Everyone likes to see a Bra sometimes...
I was getting Ruby ready to go to the track this weekend. Numbers, and her bra (rock chips at a track can be REALLY nasty). I actually kind of like the look with the bra on, but it will come off after this weekend. On another note, this will be my first DE with the Ducktail in lieu of the Carrera tail. 29 lbs of weight savings, but different aerodynamics...

I'll be interested to see how much of a difference it will make to the stability of your car. I'm in the process (still) of preparing a duck to take the place of my whale tail.
Actually, did you notice any reduction in the running temp of your car after you fitted it?

Did you make the numbers yourself or did you buy them somewhere?

Personally, I've always preferred what's under the bra to the bra itself!

It seems the car is a little slower to warm-up with the Ducktail. I'll let you know if there is a REAL difference in cooling this summer, here in Dallas
I got the numbers (3) @ Fast Signs for about $70.

I've been "wearing" my bra a lot, and keeping a ton of damage off the paint. Interesting though, I still had a foglamp shatter UNDER the bra when I took a hard rock hit. So, the bra has been hiding the broken lens.
Last week, I decided the bra was coming off. I am getting new fogs and cleaning up the front end... and going bra-less! ![]() P.S. - I've had my bra on at 158 mph... and it stayed put. Amazing.

Great looking car...I love the color (because it's the same as mine). Gotta use the bra every once in a while...rock chips show up very easily with this color.

Hey Ed!
Take your bra to an auto upholstery shop and they can fill that license plate hole with matching material. That's what I just had done with mine, a Christmas gift. I also had my driving light flaps sewn down tight. ![]() I thougth it just looked more finished. |

A few things to keep in mind:
1. The fog light cut outs for your '84 Carrera bra allows air flow to the front cooler. If you look under the bumper (passenger side) above the fog light, you will see where the inlet is larger than on the right side. 2. Bra's can scratch you car's fender by the wheel well where the bra attaches. 3. Over the years, the bra will stretch and not fit tight therefore allowing bellowing and dirt to get between the bra and paint.

I see it Vash..... Just testing the water on the polished Targa bar. I do like that paint color though, even makes that bra look good.

Not all 911s have oil coolers under the front fender.

Ed,
Your car is beautiful. Amazingly, the bra looks good on this particular car. It matches the targa top; maybe a bra looks better on Targas than on other versions. To be honest, I don't like the looks of bra's (on cars). I can, to a certain extent, understand the (correct!) reasons for a car bra, but in the looks department, well...

I agree Darryl...not all 911's have a front cooler..I noted Carrera as Ed's is an '84. I'll edit my my original post....
Cars do look nice in what I call "full military dress" - Front bra, Mirror bra's etc.... Nice car Ed....by the way...who/how did you do the Targa Bar???
