Well I know what the door rattle is.

I have been slowly upgrading/working on my 1979 ROW Targa since I got it about 3 months ago. I finally got around to taking off the panel and investigating a rattle in the drivers door. As I sort of suspected, the half a$$ installation of a crash beam (pipe) for import to the US was rattling around. It looks like it was originally tacked on, but now it is actually held in place by duct tape. It would be sort of funny if it wasnt my car. I have a picture at home, but it is too painful for me to post.

I am not too upset since I bought the car as a drivable project, I have lots of records so I know the car wasnt terribly neglected, and I expected somethings like this. I guess I'll take the passenger panel off and try and weld the pieces back in place. Anyone have any tips to make the process easier?

Craig
