Corvett Web Site Like Pelicans?

I was telling a fellow Army Reservist about how helpful the Pelican web site has been, and he was wondering if there is anything comparable for Corvette owners?
ANyone know of one, or two?

The vette owner was sitting right next to me when we brought the thread up. He about fell out of his chair laughing (and he is a 45 year old black male)!!!!

Me neither. It sounds about right, though. And JW is right about up to '67. I don't even know if I'd go that far.

I know quite a bit about Corvettes and had 5, the latest one being a 'black '65 coupe in 1970. Very crude suspension on all of them, but some people (Guldstrand being one) could make them work pretty guld (sorry).

They just got worse until no one would buy them except Las Vegas flashy types. Still, there are some hard core dedicated fans of the car and many of them look, for all intents and purposes, like Porsche owners. I'm even starting to appreciate the '68-69 model (well, almost, anyway). But, I'm serious, after that, they are abominable.

I DO think it is funny, but....

I'd be careful throwing stones at a group that consider Porsche owners dentists going through mid-life crisis with the same gold chains hidden under turned up collars who wish they could still grow mullets again.

Enthusiasts are enthusiasts. I've owned both, and a lot of other marques that people feel passionate about. I just love and appreciate cars, not only Porsches.

Several corvetteforum members also own other 'cool' cars, including Porsches, because they can afford to.

In the movie, Joe Dirt (godfather of all mullets?) drove a Hemi. Ask the guy who owns an original '70 Hemi Cuda convertible if he feels inferior to the guy who just bought a new Carerra GT. The Cuda is worth more. Go figure.

BTW, I've had the opportunity to flog a new C6 and a new 997 on the racetrack on the same day, and they are pretty close company.

Hate to say this, but one of my best buddies, since grade school, is a 'Vette fan. AND...I get along with him much better than I get along with some of the more "elitist" P-car folks...those Boxter folks who think they are cool because they can sign a lease, then denigrate me because I OWN an obsolete old 1972 911S. Fug it...I'm thinking of crushing my car...an attiude thing...

Cool

I still own a '61 Vette.

I drove it a long time. I do have the original numbers matching motor etc. My wife would like for me to restore it, but sometimes I wonder.

David? If it were a '62 "butt pounder", I might be beating your door down! Like I said, fug it! I'm starting to get really tired of the elitist P-car crowd...and my first P-car was a '66 912....What the FOK are these people talking about? The new Z-06 'Vette will blow the doors off a new Twin Turbo Porsche. The history is there. I respect the Corvette history as much as I do Porsche history. The problem today? ALL Porsche sells is history...Today's Porsche cars are krap, when compared to others offered now.

Drove a C-6 recently.

It's almost worth growing a mullet for. Awesome car to drive. Can't wait to drive the new Z06.

I used to have a '69 Vette. I had visions of restoring it to perfect condition, but had too much fun treating the gas pedal as an on-off switch. Amazing I'm still alive after driving that beast the way I did.....

I agree that all Porche sells today is history... I was watching a race over the weekend and two 2005 Mustangs tore up the track and walked all over 996's. It was depressing but facts are facts... The only reason I don't go out and get one is that you are already seeing way to many of them on the roads... I like my old classic pcar but it scares me that my car and 10g will get a new pony car which is very nice....
