7x17 fronts, what tires fit

Hey guys, gonna be putting some new rubber on the 912-6 in the next few weeks. Gonna bond on the sc flares on the back (watch for the flare party in NC in a few weeks) so I can put the 9x17's in the back with 255 40 17 rubber, either a kuhmo or toyo tire.

I've got 3 sizes of tires available for the front, the size will determine which brand I buy. Choices are:

205 50 17 - toyo ra1
205 40 17 - toyo ra1
225 45 17 - kuhmo victoracer

Whats gonna work better, having the 225/255 stagger, or the 205/255? Whats gonna fit under the narrow front?

Currently I have yok es100 205 45 17's on the car.

Thanks!

Too many variables....

You didn't mention wheel width or offset/backspace, either....

Data point: 17 x 7.5 can work with a 37mm offset...can't recall tire size, probably a 215.

8x18 can work in front ( say some) with a 30 mm offset, 225/40-18.

Alongthe lines of Wills thinking, as long as o/s is correct I would want 225/45f to go w/ 255/40r

I further think that you may not be happy w/ the effect of those taller tires on your gearing.

I'm already running 205/45 tires on the rims, 55 offset and 3/4" spacers in the front, will have a set of 1" spacers when I change the rear rims soon. Wondering if the 225's will work. Haven't found a 215 tire in the victoracers or ra1's.

Checked the tire size calculators and the 255/40's are only .7" larger in diameter that what I've got, and they are closer to factory size that what I'm running, plus I run out of gear alot on the track, could use a little larger tire.

Planning on using 3m panel adhesive.
