Details?

Take a '79 down to bare metal, strip the rockers, add a duck with narrow body IROC bumpers.
From this

to something more like this..

Take the original 3 liter and make it a 3.4 with twin plugs and a better induction.

Add a little more cooling

Add a 100 liter fuel cell. This one is a 75 I think.

No need for a side fill so delete that as well. And pull one wiper. Sorta like this.

More like this..

Pull the rear flare to get a 10" 265 tire under there with ease.

Hammer out the front to get a 9" flare.

Delete the mirrors, sunroof and fill the antenna hole. Shave the rain gutters.

Add some vents to the wing and quarter windows.

Add several hundred hours of labor for all the rest of the detailing. Mix in paint as required. (red, blue, brown, yellow, does it matter?) Months later I am still adding content to threads like this?!

how do you survive without your car?

Hard to visualise the finished project but this helps.

Dane,
So you removed the CIS and installed carbs? OK, what did that do to emissions and do ya' think the PRK (Peoples Republic of Kalif.) would pass such a set up? What change in performance was achieved and what did it cost?

BTW, got a glimpse of mine in the shop yesterday...they had painted undersides of hood and rear deck lid... can't wait much longer.

No carbs Mark...ITBs. But it should look something like carbs when it is done. No emissins for me here. It wouldn't pass a visual. No real idea but I think Electromotive and ITBs might actually pass the current emissions if I needed to.

It has been so long since I have driven this car I won't know the difference I suspect. But I'll have a good comparison to the '72 LWT 3.6 I have been driving.

We want to see your pictures!

Bob, I am told the body and paint work will be done before the end of March. Only waiting on the fuel cell and wheels so we gotta be close.

I usually just go near Willamette Pass - in the backcountry. I skied once at Bachelor ski area and many time in the country West of there...

How about doing some aero studies on your smooth roof-rail-less car....?

I know they have wind tunnels around here. If you are serious I can easily make a drive to Eugene. I would love to see some real numbers for our cars.

I remember when BB2 was getting worked on. I had a 1:43 black RSR toy car that kept me sane.

That, and lots of pictures (like these) of cars with the pieces I was putting together for mine.

Still, when it's finished, it's always just a little bit different than you imagined.

Thanks guys. Randy I'll take you up on that on the drive back from Monterey. Jack and many of you already know this, part of the fun is putting it all togetherr in your mind and then geting it done in steel and watching the process gel.

Drago..can you get me into a wind tunnel?!!

Also got a couple of color card sprays today. Decisions, decisions and they are all good Wheels are back from Al Reed next week. Can't wait to see the flares and wheels on the car.

Day by day now as it all comes together.

This is the first finished front fender now in primer.

A good 2 more inches of flare and a mini turbo look that matches the SC flares better than a factory fender IMO.

The second front in the middle of the hammer and dolly process. Some welding to come next.

Stock SC front flare.

The wind screen less one wiper now in primer as well.
