Dyno Day Results 85 3.2 carrera

Saturday 03 12 2005 the local SCCA members were invited to a free dyno day. Here are my results. I think I should be happy. The car is a 85 carrera cab 3.2 Stock with the exception of BB stainless exhaust. The car pulled three runs all within a couple tenths of a HP each time. Sounded great an got ooooohhs when I was the first of the day to top 200hp. Final results 202.9HP with 187.1 FPT car has 76,000 miles. Those are rear wheel results not sure what to use for a conversion to engine. It has been suggested for a manual transmission 15%. Anyhow I was happy with the results.

How did your '85 compare to others? Say, 86 and later cars.

Those are great numbers.

Very nice numbers. They seem spot-on. 15% losses net you ~232 flywheel HP, and that's what it should have.

Yes,

195-205 at the wheels on a dynojet is the usual range with a sport chip, pre-muffler and sport final muffler or some combo thereof. You're at the higher end of the spectrum just with a sport rear muffler it appears so good for you!

A small dip in a/f ratio below 13:1 from 5,000-5,300 but otherwise looks pretty good straight across the rpm range.

I was the only P-car there. Most were imports of some sort or another. Most of the cars were pretty much where the owners thought they would be. What suprised me was that when driving on the street there seems to be a surge of power around 4000 rpm. Mostly in first gear. Others have noted that also. On the DYNO the power was smooth throughout and that is reflected in the chart. Not sure what causes the feeling of a boost in on the street.
