Just looking around for a relacement Pre-muffler unit for my 1982/911SC and found a DANSK pre muffler unit with a OXS receptacle.
Is there other units in the market because I will like to eliminate the Cat/Converter.

Will like to hear the imput of you guys.

Bursch makes one as well, it is cheaper but it is a cat by-pass and not a pre-muffler.

Vic,

I have a unit from Fabspeed and have issues with fit as the rear flange of the unit appears to be not welded on quite straight. On my application (dual out Dansk muffler), I had to use multiple gaskets to achieve a seal. This appears to be a historical problem with the unit from looking through this board. They may have it fixed now.

Otherwise, is a nice unit for sound. Quiter than the aftermarket cat. Throttle response is better with the cat though. I am currently running the cat setup.

I am pursonally looking at the Dansk premuff or at SSIs as the next step.

I have read that power is better with the Dansk, Fabspeed, or cat over just a cat bypass.

Thank's for the advice.
This is the presice reason of my search .This is the kind of give and take info. needed in a good forum.
My 911 is a 1982SC single exhaust muffler . I noticed that Fabiani offer a set of gaskets for instalation for $25.00

Ah! ... did you fix your car ? What dis you find wrong?

I'm almost sure that when one is instaling a pre -muffler in an already existing exhust it will be wise to loosen almost every nut and bolt for final fitting of the Pre-moff.
