SF Bay Area Pelicans - Use Your Pelican Stickers! (Free Offer)

I know I'd still like to meet more Pelicans at the various SF Bay Area Porsche events (AX, swap meets, DE, etc).

But how do we recognize each other?

Well, you know those "Pelican Parts" stickers we (sometimes) get with our orders? Here's what I suggest. I have some magnetic vinyl material, the same sort of stuff used for magnetic bras and temporary racing numbers. You can cut a piece, apply the Pelican sticker, and place the newly magnetized Pelican sticker on your car whenever you want to be recognized - and take it off when you don't. I've actually written my PP BBS username on mine.

Anyone in the greater SF Bay Area who sends me an self-addressed stamped envelope big enough for an unfolded Pelican sticker, with two first class stamps on it - I'll send you back a piece of this magnetic vinyl stuff cut to size for your Pelican sticker.

If someone outside of the Bay Area really wants a piece, I'll do the same, but I do only have a limited supply so I might run out.

sounds cool. we need to have a declared location to apply them. so we only gotta look at one place. i am looking at a pelican sticker on my desk at work as i type and have the magnetic stuff at home so its as good as done.

John--
Shoot me your address and I'm in for one. BTW, anyone have an extra Pelican sticker - I can't seem to find any lying around! I'm presuming a regular com10 envelope works?

Rear decklid makes sense to me - when a bunch of cars are parked together, you usually see their rear ends - but anywhere will be better than nowhere.

jyl, email me your address, and I'll send you a short stack of our stickers.

Don't forget, we also have these license plate frames available:

The part number is PEL-PLATE, and they cost $2 each. It's probably wisest to add a couple to your next order.

Additionally, some of us have fiberglass tails, and I have a feeling a magnet might not stick to those. Just a thought.

If you guys in the SF Bay Area see a blue Dodge Grand Caravan with a Pelican Parts license plate and a sticker on the window, that would be me behind the wheel.

We could do like the Rennlist guys and tag the cars with stensiled:

PelicanParts
Mat **Last**Name**

on the quarter windows... Its a little pretentious for our group, and not too original, but it works.

Im pretty eays to find at the GGR AXs, I have PP stickers all over my helmet and my car looks like _the_ NorCal representative for GruppeB, reveted flares and all.

i suggest front quarter low, on the fender, just in front of the door. like where the flying horse chevron (edit: mobil oil) symbol used to be on some porsche race cars and some replicas ive seen posted here. ive also seen gulf stickers there.

here's a good thread with sticker placement and the flying horse i wrote of.

porsche crest decals on front fenders

nice thing about rear of car is you know if you're following/near a pelican pretty easily, I think more so than the quarter panel.

but the quarter panel is a classier look.

anybody in Marin (SF bay area) with a red 944 that rode the 5:55 larkspur ferry last night? nice acceleration up the onramp. but I caught you....;-)
