It it just me ...

or does anybody else think these cars are scary fast? I only have a 3.0 SC and granted, I have not driven it for a while, but I just took it for a quick spin after a long Winter here in NE Ohio and when I got on it I thought I was going to crap my pants! I got onto a freeway where there is an S-type turn and when I got on it my heart was racing and I had to back off! I sure miss driving this! Cannot wait until I can take the top down and really enjoy it!

You get used to the speed of most cars if you drive them regularly. I got used to the accel/speed of my '88, but until the day I sold it I still thought it was a fast car, and the speed was still enough to get my blood going. If you haven't driven yours for a while you've gotten a bit of the newness back which is nice.

I remember when I first got my car I would bounce off of the rev limiter in 1st a fair amount, 2nd regularly, and even 3rd occasionally, but after driving the thing daily for over 3 years I rarely hit the rev limiter unless I was trying to or something had my attention focused elsewhere.

They are quick/fast. It surprises me how quickly you can go from 60 mph to 120. But it always seems so well planted to the road so it's not scary to me. (I suppose if I tried over 130 I'd sing a different song.)
A guy once took me for a drag run in his hotrod '38 pontiac with full blown mid-80s monte carlo drivetrain. Now that was scary fast, mostly because it felt unstable, like we were going to fly off the road.

It's all what you're used to. But for me, not really.

My last "toy" was a lighly modded Firebird Formula with the LT1 350. When you dropped the hammer at 3k, it was a brutal bout of acceleration and a serious dose of torque. Broke a couple tranny mounts letting her loose like that actually.

Most folks like to make fun of the "redneck" factor of that car, but once they went for a ride, they always said "Yeah, that's actually pretty damn fast."

I actually really miss the torque of that car. A big V8 with an open exhaust- not much on the planet like that.

Peace-

When I ride mine the visible horizon is usually 40degs above actual in the first 3 gears....! 0-60 in the mid 2's , 70mph in 1st , 180+ mph in 6th ,room for a (brave) passenger and 38 mpg !!. Highly addictive and detremental to my license.

Get that beast on the track... When you get smooth things like turns start happening really quickly!

Well my bike still scared the s**t out of me. At least first month. And first track day.
It is really scary when front wheel start lifting at 200km/h in 3rd gear and when doin 299km/h in 5th gear ( speedo only shows 299 ) and then 6th gear.............woaaaaaaaaaaa
After going that fast no car could realy scare me but it is fun and you could relax alot more then on bike. But aceleration btw 200 and 300km/h is fantastic on bike.
Oh TT got kick too when turbo starts to roll, but as is 4wd it is no fun. It is so controled with all electronics and stuff.
So when i get to my carrera i realy enjoy rawnes of the car. It is alot more involving then modern cars and that is what i like.

I'll be re-discovering my car tomorrow. I'm bringing it home from deep storage to start spring projects.

Excited? You bet!
