Emergency brake cables

Re-building my brakes and noticed e-brake cables are sticky I finished the job and then went online at PP and noticed how cheap the cables are . How hard to replace them ? I put new rotors and emergency brake shoes on so might as well finish the job.

It’s not too bad the hardest part is hooking them on the yoke attached to the e-brake handle.
The heater cables make it hard to hook the e-brake cables on , and yes you can undo the heater cables but I was afraid I would break them and end up replacing them also so I just worked around it.

I just changed mine last week (so now I'm an expert, right?) and did two things that made it much easier:

1 - removed passenger seat

2 - removed the nut holding the heater lever(s) on, remove the heater lever(s) from the threaded stud and push them down through the slot in the handbrake handle support so you can lift the support higher from the floor to get at the cable bar.

I also found it was difficult to get the hose collar to seat on the tube coming thru the bulkhead under the torsion bar tube. A long straight blade screwdriver with a couple taps of a mallet seated them fine once I got them started. If the hose collar isn't seated you won't have enough thread to start the castellated nut at the wheel end.
