RS Chassis Numbers

I have found a car that is being advertised as a 1973RS

The chassis number is 911361642 I am not sure whether this is a genuine number or just a 73 Model and any help would be a great help

Thanks in advance

Michael

There are not enough digits in the VIN #. Should be one more.

The first production model was made in April of 1972 and the last was made in July of 1973. The chassis numbers go from 9113600011 to 9113601590.

It's hard to see where adding the 10th digit would make that number correct.

Jack, it should be 9113600011 as the starting one. For an RS, it should have another 0 after the "36". But, and it was on earlySReg. a while ago, I don't know if there was a 1642nd RS! Like Jack said, the top number in a lot of books is the 1590th... good luck on it!

There have been a number of people who've investigated this car in the recent past - it is not a genuine '73 Carrera RS.

See Don Ahearn's (RENNMAN) comments here:
