replacing door seals

I just recieved my door seal from Pelican the other day. And since today was such a nice day I decided to install it, the 1st problem that I noticed is that the door seal is not long enough to go around the whole door (are the replacement door seals made just to replace small portions of bad seal?) 2nd thing is that the original is one continuous loop of seal w/the corners already in.

just wanted to know if 1 I got the right seal and 2 if anybody else had issues w/the replacement.

the part # I got is, Coupe Door Seal, left or right, 911 (1974-89)
C-531-095-02

I went ahead and installed it cause I had already ripped out part of the old seal, but I would much rather get a seal that is new for the whole door, and is also pre formed for the car.

BTW here are a couple of pics showing where the seal starts and stops (lower left corner and upper right corner)

I don't have the part# with me right now, but the description is right.

I just did my driver's side door this weekend as well, and didn't have any trouble.

I just put the corner of the seal up into the corner and pressed in the seal all the way around, using a little bit of weatherstrip cement here and there to hold it in. (My previous one wasn't glued super well either, and that seemed like the better way to go so it doesn't bite me 10 years from now)

I had to stretch it just a little to make it go all the way around, but not much at all, and it was one complete piece.

All I can figure if it doesn't go all the way around, maybe it's the wrong part?

And it's not so much pre-formed for the car as just the right length with the single corner piece, the other is all rounded corners.

Didn't see your pic when I was typing that...

That is really weird, mine was one big seal that went all the way around, exactly like the old one pulled out.

Seal should be just one big continuous piece.

I just got off of the phone w/Eli @ pelican and it appears that the door seal that I got was mis-labeled..they are sending the correct door seal out to me immediately.
I just gotta say that I am impressed w/their customer service, I could have been stuck buying a whole new seal and throwing this one out. and just have been out the money for the wrong seal.
