Smog Pump Removal and A/C Delete

I've decided to delete the air conditioning on my 1979 SC Targa and thought while I'm cleaning things up, why not delete the smog pump as well. We don't have and emissions testing issues where I live so there is no regulatory reason to keep it.

Any reason why I should keep it functioning? Any thoughts, suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance.
