Is this the underbody seal that is recommended for wheel wells?

The stuff originally used was water-based Wurth SKS (a.k.a. "stone guard"). Note that the product you're asking about specifically recommends not using it over Wurth SKS or other water-based products.

Wurth SKS needs a "shutz gun" to apply it heavy enough to look original, however they do make an rattle-can version that gives a smaller spray texture.

Here's the Wurth product webpage for the product information:

You can Google on the product numbers and find vendors with the best deals.

Thanks Darryl. I'm really not too concerned with using what was original from the factory. Im primarily concerned with a quality product that I can spray on (without a gun since I don't have one). Wurth has a good reputation so I hope this product is recommended too--I'm hoping to see if anyone has used it sucessfully. Thanks for tips.

In my experience, the finish you get from the cans is a lot different from the gun (the oem method) as Daryl stated. If you care, you might want to call around to some body shops. If you do the prep work, it probably wouldn't be more that 1 hour of work for a shop to spray the under coating. You'll get a much better finish.

I have used the aerosols and they do work well. In fact, I generally spray clear on just about every surface that can come in contact with road debris on my bikes and my cars. The clear I sprayed on the under side of my Triumph fairing is undetectable from more that 1 foot away and the factory paint is unchipped beneath.
