I am looking to back date an SC so I am assuming I need both sides. Would the price be doubled or is there a "package deal" for both? Great work BTW!

Thanks
Bernie

I'll be able to put together a package deal once I get the other mold done. The irony (for me, anyway) is the mold for the part which is less rare is a lot harder to make!

Well, having just had all of the left side stuff out today to change out the shocks and plug wires (hint-don't accidently bump the cht connector while removing the useless cruise servo, or the car won't start and you'll kill 5 hrs or so cleaning plugs and swaping plug wires in and out) I can even more greatly appreciate what a freakin need there is for backdated heat.

Thom,
I emailed you over the weekend asking about pricing for both left and right side. Are you able to provide the pricing for the pair? I'm prepared to pay in advance. I am kind of interesetd in pricing of the CF ones, too. Any updates there? Thanks for your efforts toward this!

Doug

I don't have pricing yet for the right side piece; heck, I don't even have the mold yet! I'm hesitant to collect money for parts I can't produce.

As to the CF version, I'm going to hold off making those until my finishing skills improve. If I make a boo-boo on a fiberglass piece, it's trivial to touch it up with a glop of resin or filler. I can't get away with that in carbon fiber!

My priorities are to fill the orders I have for the left-side piece, finish the right-side mold, perfect the production of the right-side part, and then I can look at doing them in carbon. I also have to do some work on my 911 - I have a DE coming up in less than 2 weeks, and I haven't been to the track since November!

What has surprised me - although if you think about it, it really shouldn't have - I get 2x the number of inquires for the CF part as I do for the fiberglass one.

Thom,
CF is kind of bling and can border on ricer, especially for an older car. It won't fit the theme of my car, anyways.
Thanks for the update. Maybe I'll buy the black one and then you can work something out later when you produce the right one.

Thanks again,

Doug

What else is required to backdate the heat on an SC besides this part?

The right-side duct, for one

It's been a while (4 or 5 years) since I've backdated a heater, but IIRC, just only need these ducts and some elbow grease.

I'll volunteer to test the right and left units on an SC with AC and document the install process for ya Thom.
