help ,pedal cluster rebuild question?

in Waynes book101 projects,upper picture shows right side of pedal cluster,page 114, ,i notice a second spring on the clutch pedal cross shaft,but not in the picture in bentleys service manual,section 301-9.
didnt have one on mine,im i missing this spring,or is this on earlier models?thanks in advance. tom

Not sure why you don't have one. Wayne's book said "applicable all years" You should have it. It is also listed in the catalog for your car. Look down for clutch pedal return spring. For about 7 bucks or so.

they all have a spring on the brake pedal. early, non power brake ones had an extra spring on the clutch lever on the tunnel side. power brake cars have a beefy spring on the outer left side.

good idea to install the spring with the cluster out of the car. kind of a pain if you don't.
