Fuel types in a '70 T

Hi all, First post so here goes...
I live in the UK and run a US import 1970 911T for about 12 months. This was originally on solex's with the fuel emmission recovery system. This has been changed to run on webber IDA 3C's with the smog stuff ripped off and appart from the odd carb balancing issue this seems to be fine.
Engine number is 610 831 04
This question relates to the use of unleaded fuels in this car.....
In the UK we have only recently totally gotten rid of leaded fuels, Getting hold of itis getting hard so time for remedial actions...
First question. Are the valve seats fitted as standard hard enough to deal valve seat recession with unleaded formulations??
Currently thinking of tuning to use BP Ultimate (Ron of 99, new fangled self cleaning stuff so hopefully it will deal with 30 years of gunge in the cylinders..) or Shell Optimax (Ron 97 and supposed to be of maximum benefit to performance cars)
Second, curently swotting up on tuning the engine, any one got any recomendations on the settings for this type of project....

I remember reading somewhere....I believe in Bruce Anderson's book that there is no issue with the hardness of the valve seats, and running unleaded fuel. I wouldn't worry.

I have a '72 T with '70 T pistons and cylinders. This brings the compression ratio higher than a '70, or '72. (Higher compression piston from '70, longer stroke from '72)

In the US, our we don't use the RON which I believe England does??? Our octane ratings are typically 87, 89, and 91/93 dependant upon which state you live in. Personally, I use 93 octane. So people have found better results with lower octane. Remeber, this topic is similar to "which oil should I use". It will have more opinions than you care to read about.

So....try a few. That's the best advice I can give you. If you want to save, and start low, try it. See if you have pinging issues. If you do, pour some octane booster into the tank, and fill up with a higher grade next time.

I'm no chemist, or combustion engineer, so I can't speak very deeply on the lead, no-lead, octane issue.

Enjoy the car!!

I read recently that the 70T with a compression ratio of 8.6:1 can use regular (87 octane US). I plan on running 87 in mine.
