High idle after long hot run?
Just got back from a loooooong day behind the wheel. (At least it was in the p-car...so not so tedious, some parts fun.)
2 hrs in the morning, a 2 hr break - to attend a funeral - then a long hot-day run from San Diego to Buellton area (north of Santa Barbara). 250 miles. Slipped thru before the rush hour. Average about 75 mph, except of course for that 40 min wait in the 405 fwy parking lot. My baby don't like traffic jams. Hey So Cal guys, is the 405 ever clear?Anyway, is it common for the idle to run a tad high after such a long hard day? Not real high, just around 1200 rpm, and it'll settle if I tap the gas pedal. p.s. After continual brutalization, this thing just keeps running without a hitch! ('cept for the minor idle thing.) Gotta love this durability.
