Upstate NY - out of hibernation

Beautiful weekend here last weekend. We're surrounded by a golf course and the grounds staff helped me out and made a path to our barn with this snowblower they use for greens maintenance.

This was my first winter storage for the 911 and I didn't know how it was going to go. Thanks to this forum for the storage tips. I had the battery on a Sears trickle charger in the basement and added Sta-Bil last December when the hibernation started.

Now for the moment I've been waiting for - I hooked up the battery and WOW! It started just like if I drove it two days ago. A little puff of smoke; idle to 2000 for about 5 seconds and then normal. I didn't think it was going to be that easy.

Next - on to some of the 101 projects.

Great! I just did the ame thing last Friday as it got onto the high 50's and this Monday got to the 60's. The StaBil really works! I put my Optima battery in my basement along with my Targa top for the winter. I cranked the engine 5 times ans she started right up!

I recommend that you put some fresh gas in the tank as soon as you can and of course that means you have to drive the car!!

Ah, the first Robin/Porsche of Spring. It's a beautiful site in upstate NY. Our 140" of snow has finally melted enough to fire up the p-car and take it to work today!!

With two newfoundlands and a lab I can relate to a yard full of "dog rocks". With our limited nice weather, enjoy your car when you can - the dog rocks can wait.

The first day I took the car out (last Friday), there was a huge Robin sitting on the lawn and my kids said "Dad, it really is spring, you have the car out and there's a Robin"!

Hi Wil, Saratoga Springs is a historic, Victorian, city about 30 miles north of Albany. Famous for, among other things, its Horse Racing Track, one of the oldest and most beautiful in the country.

And I know spring dog rocks mining - we have a greyhound, a dacschund, and a german shepherd dog.

I'm out too! Against my best intentions, I basically did nothing to store it. The battery was dead, but after a couple hours on a charger, it started up on the first crank. It's running as if I put it up last week.

It's become my 'economy' car, since the Surburban is too expensive to drive. It's nice to know that the SC's can take 87 octane...

Dealing with the winter dog rocks, also...

Happy driving!!!!

gratefuldead - what color/year is your car? If I wasn't driving mine today, I'd swear that came from my garage. Mine's a 76, no sunroof, no power windows, etc. The color looks brown to copper depending on the light and dirt.

Looking good. We are about a week behind you in terms of weather. How's the salt and sand situation by you? I'm waiting for at least one more good rain to help clean things off. I'm about 45 minutes out of Saratoga and get over there quite frequently (especially in August), we should hook up and go for a good drive. The route from over here to there is a great Porsche road with lots of twisties and elevation changes. In your second picture, you had a ring of mothballs completely around your car. How did it work?

Nice!
I was up in Manlius (just E. of Syracuse) this weekend and if the interior had been done, I would've taken the 930 out.

As it was, the roads were nice enough for a jaunt on the Aprilia.

Be looking for you guys on upstate roads this summer...

Not to mention SPAC: Saratoga Performing Arts Center. I've been to some great concerts on the lawn back in the 70's when I attended SUNYA.
