Hey Joe!
I "prospected" with Google and found a source for 8.5" x 11" permanent adhesive backed sheets of gold foil label stock on the Internet for $4.24 / sheet. A little light Photoshop work to "knock-off" the foil timing sticker data and Porsche crest. Print it onto the foil label sheet using the extra slow "glossy photo paper" setting on my HP OfficeJet printer. Be very careful to avoid smudges and fingerprints, let that ink dry really well. So the real problem to solve is how to keep the ink from rubbing off. The solution, run the foil label material through a plastic laminator (like those used to make business card luggage tags) while the backing is still on the label material. After it's laminated, cut the "foil decal' to the desired size, now the front is covered with a baked-on layer of plastic, and the back layer of plastic comes off with the label backing paper! Now if that ain't clever, I'll go back to bed! Last edited by DarrylD; 04-01-2005 at 05:14 PM.. |

Wow!
You can make up what will be correct numbers for a modified engine now... Does it have moving parts like your other 'diagrams'?

BTW: In case it isn't obvious in the first posting, the top label stuck to the fan ring is my knock-off, the second photo is the real thing.
This is still in the prototype stage, I'd like to make sure the things are fairly waterproof and stay on well before going into the sticker counterfeiting business.... I figured I have an endless supply if they don't weather well. |

You continually amaze me Darryl. That's what comes when you get a little too much artist, a little too much techie, and a little too much Porsche-lover in the same brew. Keep it up!

Thanks for the reply. I did not notice that. It is good to know that 1980 prior cars require that you leave the vacuum hoses attached.
Thanks, Ron |
