troubleshoot my tire wear?

tires are kumho touring 732's..215/60/15 all the way around..have had them 3 years, daily driver and about 25,000 miles i'd guess (odo is deado), rotated about every nine months.

noticed my fronts show much more wear on the inside than out..rears show even wear. assuming it isn't a tire pressure issue, does this suggest anything about my front suspension settings? camber need adjusting perhaps? thanks.

Worn inners w/o cupping is generally caused by, i.e. negative camber

notice I didn't say too much negative camber, that is the compromise that comes w/ more aggressive settings

Or..simply find more curvy roads to drive on......

to match your suspension settings....

Hell I can't believe you got 25,000 miles on a set of tires on a 911. I would be wondering how hard the compound is in those tires.

Ha Ha...my tires have a 425 treadware, so they have been on the car for 3 years (12k miles a year).

I am due for new tires ASAP!

kurt,
they're touring tires, rated to 112 mph..must be a 'harder compound' (i'm guessing), but i think the number of miles is accurate. i've had them over 3 years, drive daily..figured 8k miles or so a year..they might even have more. since i don't track it or find enough curvy roads, i hate to say it, but these tires would probably disintegrate from uv rays before i'd get to 'wear them out'. wil, i will make you a promise to find more 'doglegged roads' in the future!

btw, the wheels are 6x15 fuchs...do ya'll think the next set ought to be 205's instead of the 215's? i think it's been suggested i'm actually sacrificing cornering by having tires slightly wide for these wheels..i don't get any fender rubbing though..

It is amaizing that you are getting 25K miles on a 911 set of tires. But, it really depends on the set up and compound. Just FYI, I get 10K miles on rears and 15 on the front on a set of "street tires". You are doing gooood! However, I recommend you to try a more agressive set up and softer compound = FUN.

yeah, i've really taken it easy on these tires (i.e. i only rarely have made them sing). next set will be a higher speed rating too..i knew these were 'touring tires' so i've taken it easy on them. the 215's look OKAY to me, if maybe a little fat for my 6's, but anyone think i'm better off with 205's next time? why?
