I think this is a nice ride...

I am looking hard at this car...so far I think this is pretty good, at least based on the pics and the description...what are your thoughts

Looks like a nice car, get a PPI and be sure it's in good shape.

They are supposed fax all the maintenance records to me...I am waiting for them...the person selling it told me quite a bit seems like pretty much a full rebuild

This car was just sold here on Pelican and is being flipped for a quick buck. Not a problem, but here's the original ad with some history of the car: 77 3.0 Carrera Targa (Rare Grey Market)

Not having the 911 sucks doesn't it! I chose to rebuild my transmission last year during the summer time. Big mistake. Every time I saw a 911 on the road, I would get upset my car wasn't done yet. It only took a month, but that was a long month.

Yes it does suck, and I am starting to see them all over...I hope to get it soon. The one I was looking at is likely a no-go, I am hearing too many bad things about it. I guess I will just pour a bunch of cash into mine

The more I go back to it, the more I like it. What is the going price for a Carrera 3.0? I'd imagine it's going to be more expensive than an SC or 84 - 86 Carrera.

I agree it is nice, but I think I will pass...too many unanswered questions, and it is too far away for me to get comfrortable with it

Re: I think this is a nice ride...

I was checking out the pics. When did the CIS system used. Didn't that begin with the SC's

Checking our the engine, it looks like a '78 SC motor. Not sure if this is a true Carrera. Don't take my word for it.

I know CIS was available on the 2.7 motors from 74 on. Did the 3.0 cars retain the MFI since they were in Europe?

Excuse my ignorance, but i thought the 74-77 were the MFI's and that the CIS was new in the SC series. then changed to the EFI in 84.
