RS Clone Owners - Muffler / Bumper Clearence ??

When installing the RS fiberglass bumper (72 T) it hit the OEM muffler on a 3.2 89 engine, so I order a performance muffler from B&B, maybe my first mistake. The muffler sits aprox 1 1/2 inches low and aprox 1 inch to far from the engine. Have others run into this problem and modified the intake of the muffler, or ??

Thanks for any assistance.

Ben

Same problem here Ben mine hit the oem muffler aswell but only on the bolts from the exhaust-straps. I rotated the straps up and that solved the problem. Next problem is that the exhaust tip hangs about 1 1/5 too low like you discribed. I cut the tip of mine and will weld it in the right position. Not done yet but i will take some pictures if i do. My car is a g50 like yours so things should work for you aswell.

Cheers,

Is it too late to return the muffler? I wasted a lot of months and a lot of money on a B&B muffler. You have to do quite a bit to it to get it to fit a pre-1990 911. Then it will start cracking, under any kind of hard use.

Good headers. Bad muffler.

Jack & Ed,

Thanks for your help. I've installed it several times, so I doubt they will take it back, I try on Monday. Which muffler fits?
