The Dark Side is Calling...

I don't know how it happened...I started with a beautiful unmolested low mileage 82 SC

Then I decided to notch the bumper--no big deal, it improved air flow to the front oil cooler

Then came the A/C delete--That made sense too. The A/C didn't work for ****, and it would take $1500. or more to get it to blow cold

Then I thought--If I don't have A/C I don't need the A/C controlls, and I can delete the console and get a "clean" look...

This weekend I was looking in the engine compartment and realized...I should backdate the heater and clean up the Left side of the engine bay...so I ordered the parts

Help, I feel the dark side calling...when will it end???

Alan

Don't worry, enjoy the dark side. You'll be amazed how much all those removed parts will increase the performance and improve the "feel" of the SC. My old Targa went on a 300# diet and felt like a completely different car.

I was just thinking this morning, why would anyone need Wayne's "101 Porsche Projects" ??? I've only had my car a couple of weeks, and my "to do" list is at 32 items already, not including mods I'm pondering!! It seems one job begats another! (not to worry, Wayne, I'm going to buy your book anyway, as I'm masochistic!)

In my younger days I rebuilt a lot of VW air cooled engines. It seemed that at the end of every job there was some part or sheetmetal left over. If the car started and ran, I figured that the part was unnecessary so I tossed it into the "box of lost souls". If it seems extraneous - it must be!!!!!

Don't forget to drop some extra weight to make up for the rollbar you're going to be putting in.

Put a Miata battery in your smugglers box, that should get you started.

It's not a slippery slope.

It's a cliff.

I'm currently in a freefall along with my checking/savings balance. Is there some form of support group? Glad this board is free...

The only thing that you will ever be "done" with relative to these cars is the 6 pack of long necks you had while pondering the next round of mods and what else you should do "while you are there"....
