Veriprime fuzzy resin when spraying
Hi, I was using Dupont 615s Self etching primer and i notice the veriprime was spraying sort of weird. It was leaving (hard to explain) like fuzzes in the primer. It seems though when it dried they mostly brushed right off though. The temp was just over 60, and the metal was warmer due to the sun hitting it. Anyways, any ideas what caused this. I had it happen before in my garage when the temp was over 70. I applied the Nason Select Primer over it and it wet sanded quite nicely. Any ideas?

is this a 2k primer or 1k.
If 2k.... sounds like it was drying prior to landing and maybe melting into the wet coat? Did you wetsand 400 yet? any pits?

Not sure what the primer was besided those numbers I printed above. I haven't sanded yet. I was told to wait about 4 days. When you say pitting, do you mean like dimples in the primer. If so, no signs of pitting, everything looks surprisingly good. What would cause it to dry before hitting? Mixture, temp?

2k= 2 part primer..... primer + activator
1k= 1 part.. no activator My assumption is a compressor + gun setup. With most paints, more common with activator based paints, or reduced paint, it can dry in the air. It will look rough instead of smooth. Usually too much AIR/ to fluid flow through the gun. The opposite end is to much material, with not enough air... makes orange peel. The pitting is little holes caused by too dry coats, or not waiting long enough between coats, and the solvent is still coming through the prior coat making tiny holes , pits , or bubbles , dependent how you see it. FYI- I just primed an old benz saturday, and started wet sanding sunday. You should have a spec sheet for drying time. My 2k was 4 hr wait at 70 degrees.

Also recheck the mix ratio, I messed up once and diluted with thinner instead of activator/hardener.
