Thumbs down $110 for a cardex - yeah, I know you already know...

...but I didn't until now. Rotten ----suckers. I may never spend a worse $110 with my eyes wide open again in my life.

What year did Porsche finally become an enemy of its constituents? Sounds like a poll question to me...

yeah $110 is rediculous. When it was $35, I thought that it was reaonable. Only worth it for people restoring for concours entries or VERY original cars because that $110 would then be looked at as an investment that might be worth Thousands extra to having a correct original car and the cardex to prove it.

kenikh, some of the stuff I could probably have my "connection" tell you for cheap. He will give out the options list OR the original engine/tranny #'s OR the color combo, but not all of them. But you already spent your $110

Scott, does a Kardex give you all 3 of them? Anything else?

It's only $95 if you don't get it laminated, which is totally unnecessary. I agree it's a lot of money, but I would do it again without hesitation. I don't have a concours car but it is so well documented that I had to put icing on the cake. Besides, you know you've spent an awful lot more than that on other things for your car that were just as valueless.

Complete utter waste of money. (And, yes, I have one somewhere stuffed in a drawer, not even nice enough to display).

"What year did Porsche finally become an enemy of its constituents?"

- That was the year that Dr. Wienie King became head of the company. He "saved" the company! Just like the old 'nam quote - "We had to burn the village in order to save it."

I hope the next guy will be able to return the company to something we can all be proud of. There will be $$ to do it, if not much heritage left.

I can't believe it's worth even a tenth of that because they are inaccurate. Porsche North America used to give you the data for free, over the phone, if you called with the VIN. I did before I bought my car and it was incomplete. No mention of the full leather interior, nor most of the other options like Fuchs weheel, cruise control, fog lamps, bilsteins, alarm, wheel locks...

They did know the color and the sport seats.

Regards,

Jerry Kroeger
