Question whats this and how do i stop it from leaking?

Oil leaking from here. What is this and how do I stop it from leaking? anyone?

next oil change open it up and replace the seal; check to be sure no dirt or grit is in there.

......standard lefty loosey rightsy tightsy!!! try a pair of vice grips on the outer side so you do not have to try and strip out the center any more. use a large screw driver in the center while gripping and turning on the sides.

Also a larger one on the bottom tf the case (not leaking)

there are two of those on most porsche crank cases. they are the caps that hold in the spring loaded oil pressure relief valves. if you do not already own a copy of our hosts excellent books on 101 projects or engine building.....you know the following shameless plug! in these books it talks about updating these to the solid type on the older models. when you unscrew this one, there will be a spring loaded piston in there. as cautioned before, be careful of any dirt or grime in or around this. clean it very carefully, check the washer/seal, and replace.

Both are pressure relief valves to protect the oil cooler from splitting. A special, precise-fitting bit [like a giant screwdriver bit] is needed to remove and install the caps/plugs ... sometimes a 'Drag Link Bit' can be filed or ground to fit the plug's slot.

The aluminum sealing rings should be replaced each time the plugs are removed!!! If you find springs that are less than 70.0 mm in length, they should be replaced!

Don't attempt to loosen the plugs with a loose-fitting bit!!! The fit between bit and slot in the plug should be SNUG!
