Big red 993 vs. 996

Ok, is there any difference between these calipers? A friend has some and was told the 996 TT calipers have a bigger spacing between the mounting holes then the 993TT and no one makes adapters to fit them on an early car. (he was told this after he bought them) I didnt have the two to compare, but they look the same visually.

Wow, quite a difference, but the mounting holes look they are the same distance apart, like an adapter for the big red would fit the 996. Does that sound right?

Would the same kit that fits the 993 fit the 996 calipers? What about rotor size?

I don't think so, the rotor needs to be 34mm rather than the 993tt 32mm.

Steve Timmons is the only one that I have seen adapt the 996tt calipers to a 911 at a reasonable price.
