heresey! I insist that you put some primer parts on it immediately! Or maybe some black gel coat bits. This is a serious infraction of the scruffiness rules of engagement.

ok....keep it like it is. :p

mjshira 04-16-2005 10:04 AM

Marv, not me, sorry. glad you like the car, thanks.

mjshira 04-16-2005 10:07 AM

thanks Denis. it is a one off color I made by mixing some factory colors. there is some metalic in it, but not much.

Sorry man, only the roll bar is flat black now!

adamred 04-16-2005 11:59 AM

That is one of the best colors I have ever seen on a 911, nice work! Really nice....

mjshira 04-16-2005 12:41 PM

thanks Jake, good to hear from ya

Fishcop 04-16-2005 03:31 PM

Great stuff James! I hope you recorded the colour mix? "Scruffy Silver" could well be a hit ;)

MuffinMan 04-16-2005 03:36 PM

James, it looks absolutely stunning! The car is so tastefully done.

mjshira 04-16-2005 03:38 PM

I have the color fishcop but it might take some beers to get it out of me!

Thanks Rob, she'll be 3.6'd soon and you'll have to come out to LA and drive some tracks. I have been waiting to track the car until I could with Tyson. Gonna have to get creative to protect that paint. But to be honest, she is a driver and if she gets chips fine, I will take her back in every couple years for a touch up.

I'm considering taking some time off and doing the cross country travel thing for awhile. Perhaps the planets will align and we'll be out there at the same time. I'll keep you posted.

ok, I will heading out there from here for a week to do the swap in about 45-60 days from now. I am buying the engine in may, we are going through it, then install it, euro gearbox with wevo bits already done and then drive back. you are welcome to ride either way.

NY65912 04-16-2005 04:45 PM

Really nice color James. Your ride looks great with the matte wheels.

Good Luck on all that's going on.

mjshira 04-16-2005 04:49 PM

thanks Mike, hope all is well with you

azasadny 04-16-2005 04:56 PM

YOU LITTLE SOB.:) How could you keep that under wraps. The car looks great! Congrads! I cant believe how good Scrappy looks. I think its a good choice of color.

MARRIED! What? We gotta talk man. BTW, im going down that same road. Im moving me girlfriend out from Atlanta in 2 months...

It means that I have 2 months to finish the car then we start looking for a house/condo. Porsche dollars will be scarce.

Shuie 04-16-2005 05:54 PM

Very nice work, James! She looks incredible!

I remember thinking that there were not many colors that deserved to be sprayed on this car when Tyson started the poll with color options before the two of you traded cars. That color is great. It really works well.

mjshira 04-16-2005 05:56 PM

Joe, Joe, where have you been my buddy Joe! Yeah man, married, to someone (something) other than a 911! Dude, I wanted to suprise you guys but the funds are only nearly now enough for the swap so here you have it, the new scruffy. Cant wait for you to see it in person. good luck on the girlfriend and the toad. see you in 2 weeks for the run up north. you are in right?

mjshira 04-16-2005 05:57 PM

thanks Sherman. thanks for all your help over the years.
