New setup coming soon. What do you think
I am getting 22mm T bars for the front and 28's for the rear.
I am also getting adjustable spring plates for the rear. So how is the ride going to be when all this is installed? Is it going to be realy rough for a weekend drive with the wife.

I went with 21 and 26 on my 911. It's 100% street car now, but I have plans to autocross and maybe a track day or two a year. The advice on this board was that heavier bars than 21, 26 would likely be a bit rough on the street. I'm really happy with my setup.

the 22 ride pretty stiff up front. I would have the Bilstiens custom valved, that may help. IMHO the 28s will be too soft in the rear. I can barely tell the diff. in the back with 30s over the stock. Again your shocks will have alot to do with it, I have the Koni reds single adjustable and may upgrade to yellows one day. If I had it to do over and I was buying new (I bought this as a used package), I might go 21s up front. I really dont think you would lose anything street or track. Do you have sway bars? Mine are adjustble so I can play around with the balance a little if its is not right on.

I went from 21mm F and 26mm R to 22mm F and 28mm R. I think it is very nice, but then I like to watch my wifes breasts jiggle

Your shocks will have more to do with the ride feel than the bars.

Tell me more, Jack what are you thoughts? I have the 22s and the 28s on the way, and the adjustable spring plates. My car does have sway bars, and I have hard bushing for all around on the way. I also have blisten Sports in the rear.

You can drop the car to euro ride height without the adjustable spring plates??? Its easier to mess with with the adj. though (obviously).

Im using 22/28s with Koni sport yellows, new ball joints, turbo tierods, and Chuck Moreland's bushings in the front, Neatrix bushings and adjustable spring plates on the rear. Plan on replacing the 30+ yr old rubber mounts in your shock towers if you change the struts to anything remotely stiff. Mine were hammered into chuncks of rubber pretty quickly with the 22s and the Sport Yellows.
The overall ride of my car is definitely stiffer but it doesnt feel that much different at all. Definitely not harsh. My sway bars are stock. My car steers pretty quick, but thinking that I know things now that I didnt know then, I wish I had gone with bigger sway bars first. I would rather have less body roll at this point than an overall stiffer ride. I would have also used Chucks suspension stuff all the way around the car if I had had the money for it. For street use, the condition of the road has more of an influence on the ride. If your local roads are smooth, you may not feel that much difference.
However, Jack is right. Stiff shocks will create increase ride harshness. Sherwood |

Yellows start out stiffer on the Red scale and go beyond.
