Imagine this if you will...

Try to picture the car with Gulf Orange wheel centers...(or photo shop them for me if you have no imagination)

What do you think? I may change it up a little and I thought this looked good. May do a big GULF decal on the hood......

Dang.............. that's nice.

Maybe I don't know my historic colors, but why are the rims/wheels a different darker blue?

That looks cool. But what about staying off of the bottom line and doing it like the RS 'Carrera' stripe?

Just an idea.

wouldn't you want to just drive the car for now instead of taking longer to finish it up... it's already been out of commission b/c of the stuck throttle for quite some time... deal w/ wheel paint in the winter... besides, you might DIE if you paint them!

The rims are dark blue because thats what color they were when I bought them.

The reason I put the stripe there was it would be extremely easy to mask it off.

I would drive the car as is but this is what it looks like today and I figured if I have to get the paint gun out anyway.....

Maybe it's just me but that blue doesn't match you body color. That orange's gotta go. That car would look great with the "Carrera" name on the sides.

Then I would re-think their color all together.

I know there are tons of picture on the correct look - go as classic as you can.

That's a darn nice car by the way.

In your shoes, I would go with anodized (or polished) spokes and black-painted insets. In addition to frequently killing seals, children and nuns, colored wheels just look kind of funny to me. With white RS-style cars it's okay, but I still like the classic look.

(But that's just one yahoo's opinion.)

I think the water-level orange paint scheme in the last picture looks really cool, though. Maybe not safe, but good.

That orange (to me) clashes with the blue.

I dunno...... I kinda like the orange centered Fuchs on those cars.
The rough RSR finish is all the rage, Maybe thats why I shy away from it.

What is the rage seems to change monthly.... kinda like sneakers for grade school kids....not that there's anything wrong with that.

I like the low stripe with Orange Fuchs. Now where can I order a big GULF decal for the hood?
