Fuchs refinishing in the bay area?

Hey folks,

I keep reading all these posts on what a great job Al Reed etc. do on Fuchs, but I believe these guys are down in LA-ville. I'm not really too keen on shipping my wheels down there...

Does anyone know of good wheel refinisher in the bay area who can repair small curb rash and re-anodize wheels to the original finish?

Thanks,

ianc

There is another place in San Jose, but can not remember the name. Call Parts Heaven they know who it is.

Wheel Techniques in San Jose. The owners name is John . Or you can go see Rob at SCRAGO Racing on Irwin street in San Rafael and see if he has someone local to you

Hey guys, thanks for the posts!

VZ935, Have you used Wheel techniques? Any idea how much they might charge?

I do know Rob and was thinking of asking him (he's about 5 min from my house), but he's a busy guy...

Harvey's shop is in Oroville, but he will bring you loaners and pick up your wheels (at least, he offered that to me, and I live in Livermore). He say he makes regular trips to the Bay Area, so he'll be happy to swing by and pick up the wheels. Can't beat door-to-door service. Give him a call.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Any more?

Anybody know approximately what price I'm looking at to fix some rash and anodize?

ianc ,
I have not used them in years but had used them quite a bit back in the mis to late 90's. The owner John had quite a large selection of BBS inners and outer wheel halves and was always very fair and helpful.
Rob isn't that busy..he just talks on the phone alot..just go by there and ask him if you have time.

I actually did give Wheel Techniques a call, but they do not do anodizing.

I'll ask Rob I guess. Or wait for Harvey to make one of his bay area trips...

Harvey does great work but he is a perfectionist - don't be in a hurry and be prepared to wait. He has reanodized/painted a set of 7s and 9s and a set of 2.0 Fuchs for me (pics below); excellent work and the pickup/delivery sealed the deal for me!
Fuchs 9x16

2.0 Liter Fuchs 51/2x15
