HELP!! Voltage Regulator

OK, here goes. I have a 78 SC that had the original 3.0 in it. I have since put in a 74 2.7. the egnine runs fine, but never charged. Come to find out, I didn't even have the VR in the car! Idiot of the day award!!
I have my old VR, but can find nowhere to plug it in. I redid the 14 pin harness to accomodate the 2.7 shematic per instructions form the board.
It appears I should have a plug to plug the VR into on the rear electrical plate, which I do not.
I do have wires coming from the engine that are unused, but was told that may be OK due to the difference in the harness'.
Below is a quick graphic of my VR and Resistor(?), can anyone tell me which wires from the 2.7 would plug into which spade on the resistor?
