air box removal 80 sc 3.0
any tricks or hidden bolts?

There's about a million hidden bolts. I just dropped my motor the other day, ordered all new gaskets and o-rings and the new airbox is on its way. I couldn't understand why the motor had to be dropped to replace the box. Now I understand. On the positive side, this was a great learning experience, and I now understand my car a lot better.

You really need to do at least a serious partial drop to get the air box out

Hmmmm, there's one or two in the back (towards front of car), and all the intake manifold nuts, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Lots of hoses though........... |

80-83 had all that frequency valve stuff tucked in behind the airbox, which makes it really hard to get at various fasteners, not to mention getting the assemby off and on with the breather hose running thru the middle of the whole mess.( the hose is clamped to the breather on top of the bellhousing area, and it's about impossible to get to the hose clamp, so it has to stay attached while you work the assembly off and back onto it. no fun). best to get the engine out on those models. thru '79 is not too bad with the engine in the car.
