break pads - diff compounds frt & rear?

I have Mintex pads on order for my front. I've normally replaced all pads at once in the past, but this came about somewhat haphazardly so I only got front ones. Rears are OEM compound and still have enough material left. Is there any issue with running different compunds on the front and rear?

For a street driven vehicle, you won't have any issues. Just make sure you check the rotor thickness first, resurface or replace as necessary. Never put new pads on without resurfacing or replacing the brake rotors.

Just checked rotors and they're at the limit, but since I'm in the process of replacing the fronts I'm in no mood to do the rears at this point in time.

I think the resurfacing/replacing rotors for new pads is a rather religious issue. I'm a non believer myself and have not had any issues.
