Front Spoiler Upgrade
Hello,
I bought a front spoiler from a friend of mine for $100. Couldn't pass up a great deal. I think regular price for this piece is $399. I'm having it painted this week. What type of mounting hardware do I use? Can I use the stock hardware from my 83 SC? I guess I'll also need the piece that goes between the front spoiler and fender/bumper. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1114545653.jpg |
Thats a turbo spoiler--I hope yours is for the narrow SC body!

What Jon said.
Typically you can utilize the two threaded studs coming out of each bellow. For mounting up to the underside of the bumper I used stainless bolts with Nyloc nuts and flat washers. I would fit the spoiler up and complete all drilling and mounting accomodations before paint. |
Yes, the one i bought will fit. It's made for the non turbo 911's . I set it up against the car to make sure. It's got the same features as the one shown in the pic.

Rick, thanks, I tried to check out your pics. Can't view them. |
Sorry, I think Old Skull's site has been inactive for a while. It hasn't displayed pics for a while. I'll find a "owners' gallery" and update.

Couple of pics of my 930S spoiler after repaint. Are you doing Stonegard on the bottom of the spoiler? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=212538&highlight=spoile r

Another issue I would like to discuss is the weight difference between the original (all metal) front spoiler vs. the fiberglass upgrade.
Is the weight difference enough to change the feel of the car? The car is already light in front. Changing to a lighter fiberglass version, will I notice a difference in handling? |
I don't think it'll make much difference weightwise. It may affect handling as it's much more aggressive than the original.
