My car let me down tonite ?

I went to the car wash with my daughter tonite , I finished washing the car and pulled it out to wipe it off and when I went to leave the motor wouldn't turn over . I checked the battery and it seemed fine so my son came up and gave me about 5ft push dumped the clutch and I was off and running . When I got home the car restarted several time without problems . Any idea's what I should check ?

Jim

I'd suspect something wet in the ignition. Used to happen when I'd clean off the engine of my 'ol Saab. I always have to pull off the distributor and dry it out.

If it happend once it will happen again but only when a bunch of people are around to see you push start your car.

Cheapest thing would be to start with the grounds from the battery to the ground strap itself.

If it still has intermittent starting probs then you could check the leads that run from the starter to the alt. Dremel tool with a metal brush works good. Obviously, the starter could be the issue if the problem continues. Good luck

Check the battery voltage, S/B 12.6-13.0. If the battery is over three years old think about a new one. Battery cables clean and tight. Ground strap under trans clean and tight.
When all the above checks out good, time to look at a new starter.

Are you saying that the car wouldn't crank or turn over but that it would start easily with a push start?

Your 911 is just in shock that the warm weather is FINALLY here to stay!

I would guess the solenoid too. It has to be something in the starter circuit since you were able to push start it.
