need 964 windshield-glass template
I just posted this deep inside an existing windshield-replacement thread and then realized it would be more effective to do it this way:
Is there anybody out there who can make me--I'll be happy to pay for it, you name your price--a paper template of a piece of 964 windshield glass? I'm about to install a 964 seal and Lexan windshield in my SC, and I was going to trim the Lexan to size by trying to measure the difference between the 964 seal and the old 911 metal-trim seal, but having an accurate paper pattern would be a lot more accurate.

Hey Steve!!
I had that combo put in my '73, it's a little tricky. Not sure if the 964 glass size will be just right for that. Will be interesting to get more 1st hand info, good luck!

Hi, Mike, where ya been?
I might just have to do a template myself, using the existing opening with the 964 seal in place, since obviously I can cut the Lexan to any dimensions I need. What I'm hearing on the windshield thread elsewhere on the Board is that the seal plus actual 964 glass often doesn't fit.

Stephen,
I can make you a paper template from my 92 as long as it can be done with the glass in the car. How soon are you looking for it? I am in San Jose until Friday. Bill |

Bill, I can do that myself at the local Porsche shop, so don't worry about it. I'm looking for somebody who has a piece of 964 glass out, but thank you. 'Preciate it.

Right, understand. I'M putting in Lexan, not glass, and need to cut it to size.
