RS spoiler height?
I'm having ground clearance issues with my existing front spoiler, and have been thinking of changing to an RS style fiberglass bumper/spoiler.
Can anyone give me a measurement from the top surface of the bumper to the bottom edge of the spoiler? I imagine this may vary between makers, but anything would help. 71T Thanks-

I have a Getty Design IROC front air dam that I'm in the process of painting and mounting, so I can't go out to the car and give you an exact measurement. (Anyway, it's raining and my "shop" is the driveway...) But I know that when I trial-fit it, the bottom lip was just high enough that confirmed that I I could get a towrope to the stock towhooks. i.e. if you measure frm the ground to the middle of the opening in the towhook, that's the height of my spoiler bottom lip.

Thanks Stephan,
Do you know if the IROC is deeper than the RS? I always got the impression that it was.

Don't know, but you might be able to determine something by going to www.gettydesign.com. They have photos and make both RS and IROC air dams, as well as others.

I was just there, along with MA Shaw and GT Racing but can't find measurements.

Oh, and actually, I now see you were asking for a measurement that I can provide, since the air dam is sitting in the kitchen. (Where else?) 12.75 inches is the height of the complete one-piece unit, from the top surface of the air dam to the bottom lip.

Great, Thanks.
That's for the IROC right?

Oh, It just occured to me that if yours is for your 83, it is probably deeper than one for a long hood...

If by deeper what you mean is the horizontal distance between the front ofhe unit and the rear, that measurement is 6.33 inches and there's about a half0inch gap where it fastens to the sheetmetal to which, in an '83, the bumper "smile" was originally affixed.
Please feel free to call me--845 534-7601--if there's anything we can talk about that will help you. Stephan
