I had just finished renewing my oil feed lines to the cam chain tensioners and took the 82 SC to the car wash to clean off the oil drips. I was spraying the front lower valance and the paint started flaking off in small pieces in the areas that see stones and such. I believe that the paint is origonal, but this makes me think of a respray. The base color is grey flat which is probly primer, but I'm concerned that it's not origional. Has anybody had this experance? If not, what is a good replacement for the stock SC front ?

Tim, Same thing happened to my 78SC. I finally just decided to remove and strip the valance and repaint. While stripping the old paint I learned this was a replacement valance, originally yellow! No other body damage, so I suspect a PO ran it over a curb.
And while I was at it, I stripped and repainted the bumper as well, along with adding a chin spoiler and replacing the smile, etc. Be ready to replace anything plastic (now brittle and cracks) and most of the screws and bolts will be rusty. You know how it goes.
