Cool Mark Wilson cost me a fortune!!!!

Well,,,after selling then not selling my car, and after pulling the motor and doing the o-ring, seals, gaskets, airbox, etc maintenance, I spent too much time reading M W's post on A/C.

So this morining I called Ron regarding the procooler system, and ended up buying the hoses, the compressor, the pro-cooler, and the evaporator. $1129 bucks and no shipping charges. I think this is a fair price, and I can't wait to start the install. Here in Sacramento it's alweays over a 100 degrees during summer, so this is gonna be a test for Das Monetpit.

What the he!!,,,,,,,it's only money and my wife works for a living!!!!!!!!!

PS....And I really have to say that Ron is a great guy. If you want, he will just talk and talk and talk with you about A/C, and he never tries to sell you a thing. I almost had to shut him up so I could place an order!!!

After 9956 posts, you better know what A/C is. Is it the slash? Should it be AC? I'm so confused,,,,,,,,,,

Man, I can't wait. Of course I had to rub it in Cliff's (Vash) face,,,so now I thing he's contemplating the change. 100 degrees outside and vent temps anywhere near 40, and I'm a happy camper.

Thanx Mark. If you hadn't made the post, I wouldn't have made the call.

Hey Westy,

Don't let the mountain and wetland guys get you down. I've walked a mile in those very hot Sacto Valley moccasins and laud and applaud your efforts to stay cool and may well follow in your footsteps!

In at least one respondent's case, the question should have been: Sun - what's sun???? :-)

Plenty sun here... 90's in summer... no worries. Although in Dallas I might make an exeption... I have a Targa too... Besides, AC never worked well anyway... 42 at the vent... WORTHLESS!!! The temp isn't the issue, it is the delivery, which sucks in the 911 (stock)....

yep, thats too much weight.

I never let passengers in my SC . ..too much weight.

I also keep the gas tank dry to keep the weight down.

Of course the bonus is, at that point I don't need oil either.

I just relish the glory of my lightweight parked car.

As long as it doesnt work I tend to think along the same line. Marks system seems like it works well though. If I had a sunroof I think I could probably go another year without AC. Its just too damned hot here. A non sunroof coupe in the traffic here during the summer is absolutely brutal.

Can Ron source everything you need if you are starting without a core system? Can someone post his contact info?

TIA

Shuie----just search procooler.com. He has a toll free number, and he will talk to you as if you are a real person, not just a customer. I don't know about whether or not your car has ever had A/C, but I really don't see the diff. The car has the same dimensions whether or not you ever had A/C.

I understand that the AC generally sucks in our cars, but I also understand that when you have a double-digit number of consecutive days in triple digits farenheit (typical summer in the Sacto Valley), you'll take whatever pathetic refrigerated air you're offered. It must REALLY blow to be in AZ....

Geof33- weight doesn't equal negative horsepower. The horsepower stays the same. And when I get to the restaurant, and I don't smell like a day old Smelt, then I'd say the weight diff payed off. Unless, of course, it's a sea food restaurant!!

One of the biggest differences between humans and animals is that humans have the ability to use tools to control their environment. Now if you are sweating your *ss off (when you aren't working) maybe you really aren't that advanced?
