Kinesis Vendors??
Looking to put a set of K-27's on my '86 Carrera. Who sells these things for the best price. Also, I read a pretty old post (2001) about some guy having to wait for an extended period for the product after paying. Any bad reviews about delivery delays? Product quality appears to be excellent. Any vendors have them on the shelf in 17 X 7.5 and 17 X 9.5 with the correct backspace for my '86 Carrera?

You can get them directly from Kinesis.
www.kinesismotorsport.com FWIW, 17 x 8 and 17 x 9 are good sizes that fit with minimal issues using 235/255 tires. It's possible to stuff 275s on 10s in the rear but many things have to be just right. |

Hey Shocker,
Hows life in the Pacific northwest. I used to live in Forks up on Oympic Peninsula. Spent a few years doing high lead logging for a living in the late 70's. I was a rigging slinger for Fred B Moe Logging Co. They got any trees left up there? Mike |

As I recall from when I bought mine Alan didn't have a 10 that would fit well on a SC/Carera flair 911. So I went w/ 8&9.5 x17, you can fit bigger tires and wheels but as Randy said 8&9 235/255 isn't a huge headache. 275 wil be.

We have an account with Kinesis, but haven't used it in a while. You might want to give Ben a call at 1-888-280-7799x233 - I think he has worked with them before...

K-27 Pics
Great Catca!
Post some pics. My car is the kinda garnet metallic which I think would look great with gold anodized centers. I had seen a picture of an '85 with BBS LM's which are of a similar configuration but the 8" fronts looked like they protruded from the front wheel well a little too much. Didn't look quite "correct". I'm hoping with the proper backspace the K-27 don't look the same. |

Can a 225 x 17 be used on a 7 " rim to keep the tires a little farther inboard on the front? Will that combination have excessive sidewall flex? Will it rub the inside fender well on hard turning?

Here is a close up of the 17x7.5 wheel with a 32mm offset and a 225/45 tire. For reference, the fender lip measures 25 inches from the ground. I do not have a tire/fender rub issue with rolled fenders (already done prior) but at full lock it rubs ever so slightly on my 935 style a-arm. Yes, big brakes fit too! Hope this helps.

Catca
The tire/wheel configuration you have is exactly what I'm looking for! What offset, rim and tire sizes do you have front and rear? I saw from your previous post that the fronts rims were 7.5's. Whats's the rest of the stats. Also, what kind of tires are those. Interesting tread pattern. Bill, I'm looking at duplicating the front rear fiberglass pieces I saw on your website. I was worried about air flow through the oil cooler without cutting the tub. Don't want to do that if it can be avoided. It appears yours has limited clearance in the back but you have no oil temp problems? Are you running just the front cooler or do you have another in the wheel well? Damn, am I hijacking my own thread?? Mike |

The tires are Yoko A032R they are 255/40 and 225/45. The rear wheels are 17X9 and are 13mm offset. Front offset is 32mm. Alan got these out to me the next day, he stayed late to build them, great customer service!!
