That is what I was thinking but had to ask the question.

essentially, yes, if nothing moved. engine at Z1 for #1 cylinder before disassembly. cam will stay put at that point with the sprocket off. mark sprocket to chain link, and which hole the pin was in. in combat conditions, it could be done within a couple tenths of a mm.

Right side chain housing.

Pulley has decal "Made in Germany", and 3 marks

Does my pulley show Z1? Will check in morning.

What is the position for the right side? How do I check all is ok before turning engine over after reinstall sprocket. What tools do I need to do the sproket on the 3.2?
